Still thinkin’ about Lincoln?

Abe's Fish
Abe's Fish

Although President’s Day has passed, we are celebrating the recent announcement that Abe’s Fish: A Boyhood Tale of Abraham Lincoln, has been named to the Pennsylvania Keystone to Reading List for 2010-2011. (Abe himself could hardly imagine a greater honor than to have his favorite fishing story read by students across the Keystone State!). Marvelously illustrated by Amy June Bates (who lives in Carlisle, PA) the book includes a wealth of back matter material in Q & A format, making this title interesting and accessible for readers of all ages. You can even watch the video to hear Jen speak with PA Sen. Andy Dinniman about Lincoln’s early years.

Look who we chatted with virtually in March 2010...children's author Roseanne Parry

Heart of a Shepherd

Heart of a Shepherd is on the Spring Indy Next list, chosen by independent booksellers as a promising title for readers age 9 to 12.

“With his father shipped off to Iraq, grandfather getting older and his older brothers away at college, the fate of the ranch lies heavily on Brother who is determined to take care of things just as his father would have. A beautifully written, simple book about not-so-simple things like faith and family.”
-Jennifer Laughran, Books Inc. San Francisco, CA

Daddy's Home
Rosanne's first picture book is a sweet bedtime rhyme about a daddy putting a child to bed.

"I wrote this rollicking celebration of Daddy and the end of the day because I never want to forget the joy of seeing my children run to their dad every day when he came home from work. I wrote it because I love that the routine a child demands is often a routine the parent needs. Most of all, I wrote it because when it comes to getting children to sleep, nothing beats leadership by example." ~Rosanne Parry
